Epcot Food and Wine Festival Tip: Should I Bring My Kids to the Festival?

The 2017 Epcot Food and Wine Festival is the event that Disney World Food Lovers — us included! — wait for all year long! And it will be here before you know it!

Epcot Food and Wine Festival Tips

Summer is a busy time here at DFB, as we’re on the lookout for all of the latest festival news. And this year promises to be the biggest one yet, spanning 75 days, and even reaching into August. We can’t wait!

And I know you can’t either. But we gotta. ;-)  So in the meantime, we’ve set out to offer you some super helpful tips as you gear up for another memorable Epcot Food and Wine Festival.

They come from the DFB Guide to the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival e-book. This year’s guide is available for pre-order ahead of the festival. And when you pre-order your 2017 guide, you’ll receive the 2016 guide as an immediate download for FREE, so you can get started with your planning right away!

Today’s question comes courtesy of the guide’s helpful Frequently Asked Questions section.

Should I Bring My Kids to the Epcot Food and Wine Festival?

Want to know the short answer? We say: Yes!

But why? Well…lots of reasons!

There’s still morning in Future World! Don’t forget — first and foremost, Epcot is still a theme park. Listen, I know that they’ve gone a little bonkers with the whole festival thing (not that we mind at all), but at the end of the day — or rather, at the beginning — Epcot is still a park with cool rides and educational attractions.

News and Review: The Jungle Julep at Bengal Barbecue in Disneyland

Bengal Barbecue is one of our favorite places to pick up a quick and hearty snack in Disneyland. You already know that we can’t get enough of their meat and veggie skewers.

And it’s true: they put just about anything on a stick, with fun names like the Banyan Beef Skewer and the Safari Skewer. (Though we can never resist their stick-free signature, the Tiger Tail).  [Read more…]

New! Chocolate Caramel Swirl at Karamell-Küche in Epcot’s Germany

Karamell-Küche has been churning out ooey, gooey caramel treats in Epcot’s Germany Pavilion since it opened nearly SEVEN years ago.

(I started this blog just over 8 years ago, by the way. Time sure flies when you’re eating your way around Walt Disney World!)

Anyway, it’s all in the name: it’s the Caramel Kitchen, brought to us by Werther’s Caramel. It’s for those of us — and there are those of us ;) — who adore all things caramel maaaaybe even a bit more than the other candy darling: CHOCOLATE.

Now, that’s not to say that Karamell-Küche doesn’t have a few things in that golden bakery case for chocoholics. Not at all. You’ll find chocolate poured over a Caramel Apple, covering a caramel square, or topping Mickey’s ears on a Krispie Treat.

And now there’s one more that the chocolate lovers — and caramel lovers, of course! — can add to the list to try.

It’s the new Chocolate Caramel Swirl.

Everything you need to know is found in the first glance: it’s a thick cut swirl of chocolate and caramel, finished with chocolate sprinkles surrounding the outer layer. Well, there is one more thing you’d probably like to know: the Chocolate Caramel Swirl comes in at $4.49 or a Disney Dining Plan snack credit. [Read more…]

News and Review: New Matterhorn Macaroon Donut at Disneyland!

Just when you thought the Matterhorn Macaroon couldn’t get any cooler (Get it? There’s faux snow on top!), it did. Because donut.

And thanks to our Disneyland go-to gal Heather Sievers (aka @DiningInDisney), we’ve got the scoop on this massive treat. The Matterhorn Macaroon Donut is available at the coffee cart in the hub near the entrance to Fantasy Faire. So it’s super convenient to grab along with your morning java (plus they have a bevy of yummy donuts all the time).

But how, you may ask, did the kooky sweet-treat-designers craft a Matterhorn Macaroon Donut?
